Candle Safety – The Do’s and Dont’s, here are a few tips to keep you safe and your candle burning beautifully.

- When you get your new Joanne Duke candle, always let it burn for at least 2 hours, to ensure that the wax melts evenly and to the edge to prevent tunneling

- Always put your candles on a heat-resistant surface.

- Position your candle away from curtains or other fabrics – or furniture.

- Keep your aromatherapy candle away from draughts.

- Don’t put your Joanne Duke candle under a shelf. A lot of heat is generated above a burning candle. Please make sure there are at least three feet between a candle and any surface above it

- Keep clothes and hair away.

- Candles should be out of reach of children and pets

- Don’t place candles too close to each other. Leave at least four inches between the two candles

- Do not move a burning candle, please extinguish it before moving them.

- Don’t leave them burning for more than 4 hours.

- Extinguish candles before you leave a room.

- Never go to sleep with a candle still burning.

- Never leave a burning candle in a child’s bedroom

- Use a snuffer or a spoon to extinguish your candle, this is the safest way.

- Make sure they are extinguished, a smoldering candle could start a fire. Check and double-check.
